A nutritional supplement. The physiological effect is the same as L-methionine, but the price is low (L-type is prepared by DL-type), so DL-methionine is generally used. In oats, rye, rice, corn, wheat, peanut powder, soybeans, potatoes, spinach and other plant foods are restricted amino acids. Added to the above foods to improve amino acid balance. The amount required varies with the amount of cystine consumed. Adult male requirement is 1.1g/d.
The taste of sea urchin is related to methionine, the sweetness of sea urchin is related to glycine and alanine, the bitterness is related to valine, and the umami is related to glutamic acid, so these amino acids can be formulated into flavouring agents.
It is also used for amino acid infusion and comprehensive amino acid preparation.
According to GB 2760-86, it can be used as a spice.
This product is a feed nutrition enhancer. Lack of methionine in livestock and poultry can cause stunted growth, weight loss, weakened liver and kidney function, muscle atrophy, fur deterioration and so on. Adding 1kg methionine to the feed is equivalent to the nutritional value of 50kg fishmeal. The general addition amount in feed is 0,05%-0.2%.
