Peach Kernel Oil
Botanical Name: Prunus Persica
Origin: The native land of Prunus Persica oil is believed to be Spain, however researchers have revealed that China is country of origin, where it has been cultivated for thousand of years. The trees along with all their parts –Barks, flowers, twigs, fruits, bark etc. were worshipped and the same find mentions in various texts dating back to 6th century BC.
Form: This oil is a rich textured liquid, slightly richer than its fellow Prunus family fruits like sweet Almond and Apricot.
Scent: The Prunus Persica oil comes totally unscented when extracted, however studies also indicate for a typical Peach fruit aroma as well.
Shade and Appearance: The color of Peach oil is even a shade lighter than Almond oil which means the pale Amber of this oil is still lighter than that of Almond oil.
Chemical constituents: Erucic, Gadoleic, Linoleic, Oleic, and Palmitic acids are the major ingredients of the Peach oil. It also contains abundant amounts of minerals and vitamins, especially Vitamin E.
Extraction method: The kernels of the Peach fruit are either cold pressed or solvent extracted to produce Peach kernel oil. The experts however, decree in favor of cold pressed extraction method for obtaining the best quality of this oil.
Gels well with: The Peach oil can be used in conjunction with Calendula and Coconut oils on reddened and inflamed skins.
