A beautiful eighteenth -century mansion Chateau Martinet was used as a hunting lodge before it became a vineyard with one of the most respected wines of Saint Emilion .
Rooted in a beautiful singing - gravel soil, the wines benefit of the constant care and attention from the owners. Regularly praised by international wine fairs and competitions , the wines of Chateau Martinet are blessed with a complex series of subtle flavors , accented with hints of delicious red berries.
This Saint Emilion Grand Cru is made of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc grapes. The average age of the vines is 40 years old . The wine aged 15 to 18 months in oak barrels.
The nose hints wood , Vanilla and blackcurrant. Well rounded on the palate, with elegant tannins , gives it a v ery smooth taste . This Saint Emilion Grand Cru goes well with wild fowl , red meat, lamb and creamy cheeses.
