Product Description
Gardenia jasminoides is an evergreen flowering plant commonly found growing wild in Vietnam, Southern China, Taiwan, Japan, Myanmar and India. It has been in cultivation in China for at least a thousand years, and was introduced to English gardens in the mid 18th century. Its fruit is a natural yellow dye, one of its main constituents, gardenoside, is used to treat diabetes, cardiovascular, liver, pancreatic and gallbladder diseases, and to prevent atherosclerosis and thrombosis. Gardenoside also shows sedative, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties and can be used to prevent liver diseases.
