product details
Origin:

The Granny Smith is a tip-bearing apple cultivar, which originated in Australia in 1868. It is named after Maria Ann Smith, who propagated the cultivar from a chance seedling. The tree is thought to be a hybrid of Malus sylvestris, the European wild apple, with the North American apple Malus pumila as the polleniser.

Granny Smith apples have a bright green skin that is often speckled with faint white lenticels (spots). Medium to large in size and round in shape, they are a firm andjuicy apple with thick skin. Their flesh is bright white and crisp in texture with a tart, acidic, yet subtly sweet flavor.

Eating this fruit every day can help you lose weight. ... But what kind of apple you eat may matter. Tart Granny Smiths reign supreme: They contain the highest concentration of fiber and polyphenols compared to varieties like Gala, McIntosh, and Golden Delicious
