Lime gum rosin is a kind of rosin soap, which is composed from Calcium Hydroxide and gum rosin in high temperature. For its good dissolvability with oil
and solvent, it is the main raw material of painting, ink and enamel industry.
Ester of rosin is including: glycerol ester of rosin and pentaerythritol ester of rosin (glycerol ester made from maleic anhydride rosin). Ester of rosin is pale yellow solid substance, as mainly material of lacquer, it can keep lacquer aridity, waterproof, rigidity.
With alkaline catalyst's help, phenol and formaldehyde is composed as resolvable phenolic resin, then is composed with glycerol ester, finally get pale brown transparent solid material, we call it rosin modified phenolic resin (Phenol or diphenol propane). The softening point of rosin modified phenolic resin is 40~50 ℃ higher than original gum rosin, can be easily dissolved in oil, as the mainly material in ink industry.
