As chemical analysis, every 100 grams of dried mushroom contain 26.3g protein, 4.2 g fat, 44.9 g carbohydrate, 6.4g thin fiber, 10.2g water, 850mg P, 18mg Fe, 2mg Ca, 0.89mg VB1, 1.89mg VB2, 0.01mg carotene, 16 kinds of amino acids including 7 kinds of essential amino acids.
Medicinal use and research
In traditional Chinese medicine this mushroom has long been considered a medicinal mushroom and a study on rats in 2005 showed that some compounds in the mushroom, like threitol, D-arabinitol, and palmitic acid may have antioxidant effects, may regulate blood lipid levels and may reduce blood glucose levels.
Researches have showed that pills of this mushroom can be used in the treatment of gastric and esophageal carcinoma.
Scientists have investigated this mushroom for possible anti-dementia compounds. Primary research has demonstrated the following.
1. Stimulated animal nerve cells.
2. A double-blind, parallel-group, placebo-controlled trial showed improved cognitive ability.
3. Stimulated nerve growth factor in an in vitro experiment with human astrocytoma cells.
4. Stimulated myelination in an in vitro experiment.
Dosage and administration
Take orally 3tablets per time, two times daily with boiled water, preferably after a meal.
