Product Description

 

Ferrous lactate powder is one of mineral lactates, which is applied in the fields of food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and industry, to achieve the purposes of mineral supplementation, antimicrobial action, etc.

 

Iron fortification

 

Ferrous lactate is the most soluble and the most bioavailable source of iron.

 

The recommended dosage is between 3 and 7.5 mg Fe for 100g of product. It has no effect on the appearance, colour and taste of bread. Ferrous lactate is particularly relevant to North American market where wheat flour is commonly supplemented with minerals.

 

Salt reduction in bread

 

Salt reduction is one of the biggest challenges for the bakery industry as it does not only impact the taste, but also the structure of the products.

HonghuiBio’s technicians have run tests using 0.25% of the product reducing the salt content in bread by 25% without impacting the organoleptic properties. The dosage of the product may, however, fluctuate between 0.25% and 0.5% depending on the customer’s recipe.
