L-arabinose is a kind of white crystals, which is odorless, with relative density of
1.625, easily soluble in water, soluble in ethanol , and insoluble in ether,
methanol and acetone. Arabinose has sweetness similar to sucrose. But its sweetness is
only about half of that of sucrose, and its meltability is below that of granulated
sugar; Acid and heat are stable. It is a calorie-free natural and synthetic sweeteners
and has unique features for inhibition of sucrose absorption and fat formation. And it
has a huge market space in people of diabetes, food for obesity, health care products.

● In the food list of Health and Welfare in Housheng, Japan, L-Arabinose is included
in the special health Food Additives used to regulate blood sugar.
● According to the Announcement of No. 12 in 2008 of the Ministry of Health of the
People's Republic of China, L-Arabinose is approved as the new resources of food,
and can be used in various kinds of food.
