Palm Oil industry is a very prospective industry and rare-to-get project. This is because suitable arable landbank is getting more and more limited, also considering the fact that palm oil is only suitable in tropic equator zone of earth (right now Indonesia and Malaysia is the top producer of palm oil). Palm oil has many downstream products and had various uses throughout industries, one of its remarkable downstream product includes biodiesel (Since 2005, palm oil prices has correlated with the price of world crude oil due to its substitutive nature). Palm oil is also very competitive and economical and less-forest-destructing than other Vegetable Oils like soybeans,rapeseed,SUNFLOWER, etc, this is because of its high yield output 3.74-6 tonne/ha/year compared to soybean oil 0.38 tonne/ha/year, sunflower 0.48 tonne/ha/year and rapeseed 0.67 tonne/ha/year.
Palm oil projects are long-term oriented, its payback period will be obtained within 10 years, however it has high internal rate of return as well, which is 19.18%. The total project cost for 20,000 hectares of palm oil development is approximately USD 150,000,000
