Chloroethanoic acid is a colourless or light yellow crystallization, which is stinking and can be easily air slaked or dissolved in water, benzene, alcohol and ether with strong causticity to the skin. Its acidic property is a little stronger than acetic acid.
Uses: It is a basic material for many of the chemical industrial products, mainly used in manufacturing Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, insecticide and synthetic indigo-blue etc
