What is Carob?
O Known also as Harnup. Grows naturally in lands where Mediterranean Sea Climate prevails. It is a kind of lemur which stays green 12 months.
O Carob fruits becomes brown as they mature.
Carob Extract Production
O Made from carefully selected Carob Fruits without human touch.
O As the productions process is under vacuum, the temparature does not exceed 60°C.
O Hence HMF does not occur in large quantites during production. Never exceeds the legal limit of 75 mg HMF/kg. Actually 5-6mg /kg values are obtained which is far below the legal limits and harmless.
HMF Why is it Important?
O HMF stands for hydroxymethyl furfural.
O This substance is a compound which is a determinant indicator analysis for production control.
O The bigger amount is an indicative that other unwanted compounds (carcinogenic) are also highly existent .
O In summary carcinogenic substances does not occur because of exposure to continuous high temperatures.
O Thickening, flavoring agents, preservatives and coloring or any kind of additives , etc. never used.
What is Cold Press Production?
O Cold Press Production express is used in many Carob Extracts on the market. This expression means «Only Mechanical Method, witout heat treatment» product. It is not possible to obtain extract from fruit by this method at all
O We never use such deceive expressions due to our ethics.
