Niro Forced Circulation Evaporator-Crystallizer.

This unit consists of two 34" x 33' stainless steel tube and shell heat exchanger's with 1 inch stainless steel tubes, 1000 mm vacuum chamber, a vapor condensing unit consisting of twin Nash-Elmo, 5 hp, modeled MMF80/4 vacuum pumps mounted on a skid that includes a 2' x 3' stainless steel cooling tank with interior coils. The tube and shell vapor condensing unit is all stainless construction. As the vapors from the vacuum chamber pass over the cold stainless tubes in the condenser condensate forms and then flows out of the drain at the bottom of the condensing tube.

 

The product; in this case sweetened condensed milk is pumped into the vacuum chamber and then circulated through the heat exchangers and back into the vacuum chamber. Water is extracted from the milk in the form of vapor then passed through the condensing heat exchanger. This process continues until the desired milk concentration and crystallization is reached.
