Our Puttanesca Sauce is a tomato based sauce made with olive oil, fresh garlic, anchovies, tomatoes, red wine, parsley, oregano, basil, hot pepper, capers and black olives. It is a very aromatic sauce. Excellent on any kind of pasta, wonderful over fish, chicken or veal. A great tasting sauce native to Naples, Italy. Puttanesca means "Ladies of the Night." Legend has it that the "Ladies of the Night" in Naples used to cook this by an open window. The aroma would go out onto the sidewalk, enticing gentlemen walking by to come inside. CAN BE THINNED OUT WITH 20% WATER.
