Our Saffron is the result of a deep selection among several different qualities from different countries around the world, it presents outstanding qualities in terms of flavor, coloring power and taste.

 

All the phases of the processing are handmade. Immediately after the crop, the red stigmas, the useful part of the flowers, are selected and separated from the rest, dried and packed in few hours, in order to maintain all feature intact.

Since many centuries, saffron has  been known for its medical effects. In some medical textbooks dating back to the Persian empire (IV century bC), saffron was described as a useful drug for the care of the respiratory system and the digestive system. Still today, especially in traditional Oriental medicine, saffron is used as a holy grass dedicated to treat various disorders.

Nowadays, saffron’s beneficial properties are studied and therefore confirmed by scientific research. As a matter of fact, is proved that saffron contains relevant amounts of vitamin A, various vitamins of the group B, vitamin C and carotenoids  (Lycopene and Zeaxanthin).
