Sir Cliff Richard Premium Wines

 

During the past six decades Sir Cliff Richard has scored more than 100 successful compact and holds the record (with Elvis Presley) being the only artist to be on the bestseller list for his entire career.

 

Sir Cliff’s idea to plant a vineyard at his property Quinta do Moinho provided the genesis point for the Vida Nova range of wines. With the help of Nigel and Lesley Birch, owners of Quinta do Miradouro and Max and Michelle Birch, owners of Vale do Sobreiro, his idea came to fruition in 2003 with the production of our first wines at the Adega do Cantor our bespoke 200 tonne winery.

 

Our philosophy is to produce wines to the highest possible standard using a combination of traditional and innovative modern winemaking techniques.

 

The Algarve - Portugal has excellent conditions for producing fruit driven wines in a modern style. Cooling on-shore breezes moderate the heat of the southern sun while the poor limestone soils limit water, providing an ideal environment for maturing high quality wine grapes.

 

Vida Nova 2012 white Wine

Appearance: Buttercup yellow with youthful green accents.

Aroma: Vibrant floral aromas of orange and tangerine blossom elegantly combined with melon and banana notes.

Palate: Vivacious Citrus fruits combine with lush, mouth coating flavors of honeydew melon; good mid palate weight driven by meticulously structured fruit. Long finish with crisp, balanced acidity.

 

Vida Nova 2012 Rosé Wine

Appearance: Striking crimson with pinky-purple flecks.

Aroma: Bursting with an eclectic mix of red summer berry fruit aromas; subtle hints of crushed Blackberry leaf seasoned with a pinch of spice.

Palate: Tangy, yet luscious. Rich and creamy with mouthwatering flavors of summer pudding supported by balanced acidity and pleasing mouth feel leading to a long, layered and lively finish

 

Vida Nova 2010 Red Wine

Appearance: Deep Moroccan velvet with purple hues. Consistent color from rim to core.

Aroma: Lifted aromas of blueberry, blackberry and mulberry. Delicate perfume of Parma violet roused with scents of licorice, mint and eucalyptus.

Palate: Juicy, dense, dark, red fruit redolent of new season plums; this wine cleverly balances complexity, texture, acidity and supporting tannins before evolving to an impressive finish.

 

The production facility is a 200 tonne boutique winery built to a bespoke design in collaboration with Castle Rock Logistics, a company specialising in winery design and project management and based in Western Australia. It took 18 months to design on computer and 10 months to build. The winery is modular in design in order to be easily expandable to a final capacity of 300 tonnes.

 

Vida Nova Rosé is the only wine from the Algarvian region to be on sale in a UK multiple grocers – Waitrose.
