Properties& Applications:
It is the white powder or opaque fine monoclinic crystal, with the relative density of 2.159. It is smell less and salty. It dissolves in water and slightly dissolves in ethanol. In addition, its water solution will show alkalescence during hydrolyzing. When heated, it will be decomposed and elease carbon dioxide. It will change into the concentrated crystal soda(Na2CO3@NaHCO3@2H2O) under 100 When being heated for 2 hours under 270~300. It will completely lose carbon dioxide and become the sodium carbonate. In the dry air, it will not change, and It will slowly be decomposed in humid air.
It is used for foodstuff, pharmacy, film making, tannage, mineral dressing, metallurgy, fibre, rubber, and other industries, and as the detergent and fire retardant as well.
