Due to its tannins contained, Tara is useful in the tanning and furriery industry. The tannins
contain practically no coloring substances and therefore give very bright, light-resistant
leather. The tannins are used in medicine as astringent and for the treatment burns. It is antiseptic. In the manufacture of plastics and adhesives
