Vannammei shrimp (Penaeus Vannamei) are predominantly found in the Pacific Ocean in coastal zones of India, China and Thailand. The adults live in the ocean in depths up to 72 metres. Whiteleg shrimp is named due to their translucent white body. Maximal registered size is 23 cm, normal commercial sizes are 10-18 cm. Females grow faster and become more larger than males. Males become mature from 20 gr and females from 28 gr onwards at the age of 6–7 months.
