Aroma: Vibrant floral aromas of orange and tangerine blossom elegantly combined with melon and banana notes.

 

Palate: Vivacious Citrus fruits combine with lush, mouth coating flavors of honeydew melon; good mid palate weight driven by meticulously structured fruit. Long finish with crisp, balanced acidity.

Tasting Notes: Vida Nova White 2012 is made from selected blocks of Verdelho and Viognier vines. It is batch fermented at very low temperatures for over a month in stainless steel vats. Both wines are blended, filtered and bottled with minimal handling within six months of vintage.

The Algarve, in the south of Portugal, has a terroir that projects its enigmatic characteristics onto the wine grown here.

 

 

 

Sir Cliff Richard has known and loved the region for over 40 years and despite having dominated the popular music charts for over 50 years, setting a new goal to produce a quality wine in an unknown region of Portugal was a brave move. Farming wine grapes in the Algarve is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of his iconic music career.

 

 

Our first range of wines was named “Vida Nova” – New Life; and signifies a new chapter in the life of Sir Cliff and a new life for the Algarve as a wine producing

 

region.

 

Adega do Cantor, Lda is situated at Guia , a few kilometres northwest of Albufeira in the heart of the Algarve. Our vineyards cover 25,5 hectares of prime Algarvian terroir with the winery centrally located and nestled amongst undulating rows of vines overlooking the silvery Atlantic Ocean .

 

The production facility is a 200 tonne boutique winery built to a bespoke design in collaboration with Castle Rock Logistics, a company specialising in winery design and project management and based in Western Australia. It took 18 months to design on computer and 10 months to build. The winery is modular in design in order to be easily expandable to a final capacity of 300 tonnes.
