GROWN IN THE RICH RED SOILS OF HEATHCOTE IN CENTRAL VICTORIA, THESE GRAPES WERE FERMENTED IN OPEN BATS AT COOL TEMPERATURES. THE WINE MATURED IN 25% NEW FRENCH OAK AND OLDER BARRIQUES. IT IS NOW A DRY RED THAT IS EXPRESSIVE OF BOTH THE VARIETY AND THE REGION. IT DELIVERS AN AROMA OF CLASSIC HEATHCOTE RED AND BLACK FRUIT WITH HINTS OF CHOCOLATE AND SPICE. THE PALATE IS FULL FLAVOURED YET SOFT, FINISHING WITH LENGTH AND BALANCE. WITH CAREFUL CELLARING THIS WINE WILL DEVELOP FOR ANOTHER 8-10 YEARS .
