Calcium Propionate , A white powder or crystal, is odorless, or slightly smells propionic acid, and stable to heat and light. Calcium Propionate is highly hydroscopic, soluble in water (50g/100ml) and insoluble in ethanol and ether. Under the acidic condition, calcium Propionate generates free propionic cid which has antibiotic effect. Calcium Propionate can inhibit growth of some individual molds and bacteria

Usage: Calcium Propanoate is used as a preservative in a wide variety of products, including but not limited to bread, other baked goods, processed meat, whey, and other dairy products. In agriculture, Calcium Propanoate is used, amongst other things, to prevent milk fever in cows and as a feed supplement. Calcium Propanoates prevent microbes from producing the energy they need, like benzoates do. However, unlike benzoates, Calcium Propanoates do not require an acidic environment.

 

Packing and Storage: Calcium Propanoate is packed in 25kg white plastic woven bags with the shelf life 18months and should be stared in cool and air place.
