Dolcetto d’Alba is undoubtedly the best know and most important of the seven dolcetto in piedmont. A fresh wine best served young, it has gained favour thanks to its pleasant character, extreme softness and ability to make friends without being over-demanding.
Grape variety: 100% dolcetto.
Vineyard age : 20 years
Exposure : east-west.
Soil: medium-soft with calcareous veins and basic ph; high degree guyot pruning: 12%.
Type of training : classical Guyot.
Altitude: 350-400 mt. Above sea level.
Colour: deep ruby-red with bluish or purplish streaks.
Perfume: delicate, with violet and rose overtones, as well as Fresh Fruit such as Cherries and strawberries.
Taste: dry, soft, full-bodied without being over-demanding, velvety and fruity. excellent with all first courses, it also goes well throughout a meal.
