Oat meal is a milling product, produced by milling cleaned and prepared oat (Avena sativa). Consistency of the
product is free, liquid, granular and free of lumps.
Purpose of use:
In the past, oats were regarded as one of the most important medicinal plants. Now it is regarded as one of the
healthiest foodstuffs, which can be largely attributed to the readily soluble fibre in oat flour. Before milling, oats
must be hulled. The hulled grain is rich in minerals and Protein and has a favourable amino acid structure. It is also richer in fats than other Cereals. Compared to other cereals, it contains slightly less starch (carbohydrates), which is especially important for people who need to avoid sugar and starch, such as people with diabetes. Experts recommend oat dishes for conditions such as lack of energy, anorexia, mental overload, anxiety, depression and insomnia. Oat flour can be used as a supplement for improving the nutritional value of bread and has a beneficial
effect on the digestive system. Exceptionally oat flour can be used to make oat bread. It is generally used as feed for livestock, mainly horses. There are occasional fluctuations in the nutritional values of the products occurring as a result of the fluctuating characteristics of the crop yields. The product is used for food purposes. Heat treatment is needed.
