Casale del Mare has on the front facade a hand painted sundial. The name Epatta comes from the lunar phases (explained on the painting) and the femininity of the moon. Epatta rosè is crafted from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, hand harvested from a vineyard planted in 2003.
The vineyard, on calcareous clay soil, benefits from an optimal south southwest exposure and pruning is managed via the Guyot method.
The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel vats, followed by further bottle aging of about three months.
Epatta rosè has deep, soft, pink colour, with intense aromas of pink grapefruit, wild strawberries and rosehip, crisp concentrated flavour and long finish.

The land of the Macchiaioli.
Fortulla wine was born in one of the most enchanting places in Tuscany, where the gentle hills plunge into the turquoise of the Mediterranean Sea.
These places have always been an inspiration for artists.
Here, in particular, the Macchiaioli movement was born in the late 1800s, forerunners of the most famous French impressionists.
It is said that just along the road that climbs towards Castelnuovo, passing through Poggio Pelato, where the Fortulla vineyards overlook the Mare Nostrum, the painters stopped to paint the sublime Mediterranean landscapes.
