It is obtained from Prosecco Grapes, but Verdino grapes may be added, up to a maximum of 10%
Characteristics
Sparkling Conegliano Valdobbiadene has a bright straw yellow colour with persistent bubbles. The fragrance is pleasing and characteristically fruity, the flavour dry or medium sweet or sweet, full-bodied, pleasingly fruity and characteristic. The alcoholic content must be 11° and 11.5° for the Sparkling Conegliano Valdobbiadene Doc with the sub denomination Superiore di Cartizze. Upon visual examination Semi-sparkling Conegliano Valdobbiadene Doc presents a bright straw yellow colour with evident bubbles. The fragrance is pleasing and characteristically fruity, the flavour dry or medium sweet, semi-sparkling and fruity. The minimum alcoholic content must be 10.5°
Area of production
It includes the hill territory of the municipalities of Conegliano, S. Vendemmiano, Colle Umberto, Vittorio Veneto, Tarzo, Cison di Valmarino, Follina, Miano, Valdobbiadene, Vidor, Farra di Soligo, Pieve di Soligo, S. Pietro di Feletto, Refrontolo and Susegana, all in the province of Treviso. If obtained from grapes harvested in the village of San Pietro di Barbozza (called Cartizze) in the municipality of Valdobbiadene, the various types (with the respective alcoholic contents foreseen by the regulations) can bear the sub denomination Superiore di Cartizze

The controlled denomination of origin Conegliano Valdobbiadene was initially recognised by Decree of the President of the Republic dated 02.04.1969, published in the Official Gazette No. 141 of 07.06.1969, later amended by Decree of the President of the Republic of 12.06.85 and by Ministerial decree dated 29.12.86. The denomination was changed from Prosecco di Conegliano Valdobbiadene to Conegliano Valdobbiadene by Ministerial Decree dated 29.8.00 published in the Official Gazette No. 211 of 9.9.2000
