What is Protocatechuic acid?
Protocatechuic acid (PCA) is a phenolic acid substance that naturally occurs in many vegetables and fruits. It is an effective active ingredient in many traditional Chinese medicines such as Danshen and hibiscus. It has pharmacological activities such as anti-platelet aggregation, reducing myocardial oxygen consumption, increasing myocardial oxygen tolerance, slowing heart rate, antibacterial effects and analgesia, as well as antioxidant, anti-tumor, and neuroprotective effects.
We obtained a high-yielding protocatechuic acid strain modified by engineering strain with better quality and productivity than chemical synthesis and plant extraction.
APPLICATIONS:
PCA is widely used in pharmaceutical synthesis, organic intermediates, dye synthesis, and feed additives.
