Functions of Bletilla Striata Root Extract
1. The herb is often used in combination with cuttle bone powder, such as Wuji Powder for infusion with hot boiled water, to treat haematenesis and tomachache; and with dondey-hide gelatin, dried rehmannia root, biota tops, pyrrosia leaf and other herbs for cooling blood to stop bleeding, resolving phlegm and relieving cough, to treat cough with phlegm and blood due to pulmonary tuberculosis. To treat traumatic bleeding, the herb can be ground into powder for external application.

To treat diabrotic skin sore without healing for a long time, the herb can be ground into powder, used in combination with frankincense, myrrh, calcined dragon's bone, dragon's blood and other drugs for external application to astringe sore and promote healing.
