Turmeric
Turmeric (in Thai “ka-min”), the spice contain active substances which
are polyphenol; curcumin, also known as strong anti-oxidant and. In
Ayurvedic, turmeric also has therapeutic properties as follow;
antioxidant, power to block inflammation, anti-gastric flux and improve
heart health. Furthermore, fresh turmeric is pleasantly mild and has a
very loud color. Its bright yellow color and delicate flavor is well loved in
foods which name as “natural color-additive”.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.)
Turmeric is usually used to add flavor to many foods especially Southern food such as yellow curry,
Tai pla curry, Indian curry, and so on. It has been used for various therapeutic purposes as a topical and
ingestion. As a topical, it has been used to heal wounds, prevent abscess, and to treat insect stinks.
Turmeric also is cosmetics in South Asia and Far East. They apply turmeric upon their face to enrich the skin
and promote its softness. As an oral, Turmeric helps detoxification, treats flatulence and promotes ingestion
system, and enriched liver and whole body health. Besides, it treats asthma, vertigo, arthralgia and arthritis,
and so on.
At the present, there are studies conducted in the traditional regimens of Turmeric. The studies state
that Turmeric has in fact its effects mentioned above which are promoting wound healing, healing the
inflammation, alleviating allergic reactions, promoting immune system, antibacterial, helping bile secretion for
digestion function and prevention of gallstones, anti-flatulent and so on. Some studies stated that turmeric is
health-friendly because of curcuminoids and essential oil. "Curcuminoids” by oral administration has satisfying
effect in anti-aging. And derivatives of Curcuminoids with more potent effects than Curcuminoids are used in
cosmetics for its anti-aging effect.
