Company Information
Our oil is a tribute to our grandmother Lourdes Oria, born in the Sierra Sur (Alcalá la Real,Jaén), whose family takes over 200 years cultivating their olive groves in the region.
In 1985 our mother Julia Sánchez-Cañete Oria and her sisters (Carmen and Lourdes) create Explotaciones Agricolas Bosanca C.B., that it manages the cultivation of four lands: Cortijo de la Cuesta, Cortijo de Santa Ella, Cortijo el Cañuelo and Cortijo de Ardales.
All this tradition, born Aceites Oria, with the love and support of many generations who love and respect the culture of the olive tree and the value of the land, aware of the importance of the environment and with clear objectives in terms of quality.
The topography of our land allow that the collection of our olives can be produced in a manual manner, leading them to the mill in a time and form minimal, which are ground in a natural way ,in order to obtain an intense and balanced flavor.
Product description
Our extra virgin olive oils correspond to Picual, weevil, carrasqueños Alcaudete hojiblanca and lechín varieties, the organoleptic qualities give oils fruity and slightly bitter in the mouth with great stability. They are characterized by a maximum acid value of 0.7 and an intense color from green to golden yellow.
Location
The production of olive oil of this region is located in the southwestern of the province of Jaen, a privileged environment landscape and ecological interest, in the boundaries between the Caliphate of Cordoba and The nazari Granada.
It is an area of great olive oil tradition, in fact the oil is one of the great properties kitchen´s Jaen. The first news we have of olive cultivation dates back to the Roman era, this region Turdetania called by the Romans, the olives were cultivated in rustic villas . During the Middle Ages had two zones of production, the Lordship of Alcaudete and lands belonging to the Order of Calatrava and other livestock and vine Valdepeñas differed.
From the sixteenth century the olive grove began to have great preponderance in the region until the present time. The topography of the Subbética shows a rugged area with a suitable climate for the growth of olive grove with winters average 9º and summers average 28 º. This region is composed of the village of Alcala la Real, Alcaudete Castle Locubin Friars Fuensanta Martos Jaen Valdepeñas and Villares.
