Curcumin is extracted from the Rhizome of Curcuma longa as raw material. It’s a natural
food pigment by the process of solvent extracting, concentrating, refining and drying. The
appearanceof curcumin is yellowish to orange powder having the characteristic odorturmeric
like, the active ingredient is curcumin. It can not dissolve in water and ether, easy to dissolve
in ethanol, acetic acid and propylene glycol, completely soluble in acetone. The color shade
of acidic solution is pale yellow, and reddish brown in alkaline condition.
