Serpentino was born in 2012. The name comes from the geological peculiarity of Castiglioncello and from the rock serpentinite. Serpentinite, present under the vineyard, is a magmatic rock that belongs to the ophiolitic trilogy or of the green rocks.
Serpentino comes from a parcel of our vineyard that has clay soil and is particularly rich in fragmented limestone. Canes are pruned according to the Guyot system.
The grapes are manually harvested, placed in small bins, and pressed after careful hand selection. The must is then fermented in stainless steel vats and aged on its lees for a few months.
The wine Serpentino is pale yellow, with peach, yellow apple, pineapple and wild flowers on the nose. On the palate the wine is fresh and fruity, with a pronounced minerality.

The land of the Macchiaioli.
Fortulla wine was born in one of the most enchanting places in Tuscany, where the gentle hills plunge into the turquoise of the Mediterranean Sea.
These places have always been an inspiration for artists.
Here, in particular, the Macchiaioli movement was born in the late 1800s, forerunners of the most famous French impressionists.
It is said that just along the road that climbs towards Castelnuovo, passing through Poggio Pelato, where the Fortulla vineyards overlook the Mare Nostrum, the painters stopped to paint the sublime Mediterranean landscapes.
